Magnetic Latches

A magnetic latch replaces the sprung roller of a conventional tubular latch with a magnet in the keep. The leaf is pulled shut and held silently, with no click, no rattle and no mechanical spring to wear out, which is why they have become the default on quiet contemporary doors.

Where a magnetic latch helps

Nurseries, bedrooms and home offices benefit most, because the door closes without the snap that wakes people or interrupts a call. They are also the sensible choice on very light leaves that a stiff sprung latch would push back open.
