LPD

LPD Doors is the widest single-brand range we carry, spanning internal, external, fire rated and folding doors plus matching frames, side panels and ironmongery. LPD build in oak, walnut, white primed, pre-finished laminate and hardwood, which is why the brand covers everything from a budget flush door to a full glazed entrance set.

Where LPD doors are used

Inside the home the main choices are internal oak doors, white primed doors, grey doors and laminated doors. Openings that need light borrowed from another room take a glazed door, while bedrooms and bathrooms usually take an unglazed door.

LPD also make certified FD30 fire doors and external doors, along with internal frames, room dividers and LPD handles, so a whole opening can be ordered from one manufacturer.

What the LPD range covers

LPD is the broadest single range we stock, and unusually it spans internal doors, external doors and hardware, which makes it useful when the front door and the internal doors are being replaced in the same project. Internally the range covers white primed, oak, black, grey and laminated finishes, in both glazed and unglazed versions.

Internal styles

The panelled styles are grouped by panel count, which is the quickest way to match an existing house: 2 panel, 3 panel, 4 panel and 6 panel. For flatter, more contemporary interiors, look at shaker doors, and for period cottages at cottage doors and ladder doors.

External doors and frames

LPD external doors sit in external doors, with the glazed versions in glazed external doors. They are hung in external frames and, where a sidelight is being used, with side panels for external doors. An external door has to be finished on all six faces before or immediately after hanging, and the threshold detail matters as much as the leaf.

Space-saving door systems

Where a swing door will not fit, the range covers bi-fold doors, pocket doors, room dividers and the sliding door kit systems that carry them. How bi-fold doors work explains the mechanism and the clearances you need.

Matching hardware

Handles from the same manufacturer keep the finish names consistent, so start from LPD handles, then add the latch and hinges, or buy the lot as a handlepack.

Are LPD doors prefinished?

Both are made. Prefinished doors can be hung and left; unfinished doors have to be sealed on every face, including the top and bottom edges. See fully finished internal doors and unfinished internal doors.

Do LPD doors come as fire doors?

Some ranges do. Fire rated leaves are listed under fire doors, and they need fire rated hinges and intumescent strips to perform as tested.
