Knight Tile is Karndean value luxury vinyl range: thinner than the premium collections but with the same waterproof construction and a commercial wear layer. It is the range most UK bathrooms, kitchens, utility rooms and hallways actually get specified in.

Where Knight Tile fits

The planks and tiles are dimensionally stable and can be laid over underfloor heating, and because individual pieces are glued down, a damaged one can be lifted and replaced without touching the rest of the floor. Subfloor preparation matters more than the product: it must be dry, flat and clean.

What Knight Tile is

Knight Tile is Karndean's core luxury vinyl tile range and the one most UK homes end up specifying. Each plank or tile is a multi-layer vinyl construction with a photographic decor layer and a clear wear layer over the top, and the range covers both wood-look planks and stone and slate-look tiles. It is a glue-down product, which is what gives it the flat, solid feel underfoot that click-together flooring never quite achieves.

Where it works and how it wears

Because the surface is vinyl rather than timber, Knight Tile is completely at home in kitchens, utility rooms, bathrooms, hallways and conservatories, where a real wood floor would be a risk. It is warm underfoot, quiet, compatible with underfloor heating in most cases, and the wear layer takes the traffic in a family hallway without the surface damage a lacquered timber floor would show. Cleaning is a damp mop and a pH-neutral cleaner, nothing more.

Getting the subfloor and the fit right

Glue-down vinyl telegraphs everything underneath it, so the subfloor has to be clean, dry, level and properly prepared. That preparation is the single biggest factor in how the finished floor looks, and it is where most disappointing installations go wrong. Allow the tiles to acclimatise in the room before laying.
