Warranty Information
Products supplied by Doors2Floors may carry a manufacturer warranty. This page explains how those warranties work in general terms, what usually affects cover, and how to raise a claim with us. It does not set a warranty period, because the period and the cover are set by each manufacturer and differ between brands and product ranges.
Manufacturer warranties
Where a warranty applies, it is provided by the manufacturer rather than by us, and the terms are supplied with the product. If you need the warranty details for a specific item before you buy, contact our team with the product name and we will obtain the current terms from the supplier.
Your statutory rights
A manufacturer warranty is in addition to your legal rights as a consumer under UK law. Nothing on this page reduces those rights. Our full trading terms are set out in our terms and conditions, and the returns process is explained on our returns page.
Conditions that commonly affect cover
Manufacturer warranties normally depend on the product being stored, finished, fitted and maintained in line with the manufacturer instructions. The reasons cover is most often refused are avoidable, and all of them happen before or during installation.
- Unfinished timber products not being sealed on all faces and all edges before or immediately after fitting
- Storage in damp, unheated, newly plastered or newly screeded environments
- Trimming beyond the manufacturer stated allowance
- Alterations outside the manufacturer instructions, including glazing changes and cutting for ironmongery
- Fire doors fitted with ironmongery or seals outside the tested specification
Our product care page covers sealing and maintenance, and our installation information covers storage, trimming and hanging. For fire rated products, read the fire door guide before fitting.
Timber movement and natural variation
Timber is a natural material. Variation in colour, grain and figure between leaves, and slight seasonal movement, are characteristic of real wood rather than faults, and are normally excluded from warranty cover. Our guides on doors swelling and sticking and internal door finishes explain what is normal and what is not.
Making a claim
- Contact us with your order number and the product concerned.
- Send clear photographs of the issue, including a wider shot of the whole door or floor.
- Tell us the date of fitting and what finish was applied, if the product was unfinished.
- We will confirm what the manufacturer requires and take it forward with them.
You can reach us through the contact page or on 01924 457457.
